Spain’s Stock Market is bearing in mind as a preserved share trading market in Europe.The Comisión Nacional del Mercado de Valores (CNMV) has started public debates about the improvement of post-trading system - run by Iberclear, part of the BME Spanish exchange – is well-matched with the "accepted European practices and standards in this activity".
The following act could facilitate fledgling platforms such as Chi-X Europe and Turquoise - known as "multilateral trading facilities" (MTFs) - to make inroads into Spain's stock market, where there are alred three of Europe's five most liquid stocks: Santander, BBVA and Telefónica. |

The Sustainable Economy Law was presented to Congress by the Spanish Prime Minister José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero in order to reform the labor market, pensions and to eliminate a fiscal fraud and holes in the economy. The PM is quite optimistic about the state of Spanish economy and estimates its growth in Q4 2009 or Q1 2010. He is planning to make an offer to the Toledo Pensions Commission for the purpose of stability link between contributions and payments.

The Spanish Ministry for Industry, Tourism and Trade has published the indexes of trends of competitiveness where the outcome of Spanish export was 0.6 percent improvement in Q2. Relative to Euro-zone average, Spanish export competitiveness was mostly reached due to lower level of inflation between April and June. According to the export unit price indices calculations, Q1 results were 0.4 percent relative to euro-zone countries.

Spanish banks are trying to protect its system from the burst of country’s property bubble. In July the Central Bank of Spain made changes in order to facilitate provisioning rules on risky mortgages. According to new changes, banks have to allow for the difference between the value of the loan and 70% of the property’s market value. One of the analysts from Iberian Equities assumes that new changes would relieve banks of the need to make provisions of about €22 billion in coming months (assuming non-performing loans reach 8% by the end of 2010). |

1 billion Euros Plan has been announced by Spanish Prime Minister for the tourism development. Based on preliminary estimations, 500 million, financed by Plan Futur-E will go to the promotion of sustainable energy and tourism improvements; the remaining sum will be invested into projects financed by Official Credit Institute. Canaries are obliged to get 100 million Euros, as it has already been confirmed. |
