Telefonica is in purchasing process of the German telecommunications firm, Hansenet, from Telecom Italia. The following acquisition of the German operator will add more financial stability to the Spanish company (as the annual turnover of the German operator is more than 5 billion Euros) an increased number of mobile phone and broadband customers.
The German company's debt was quoted at 610 million Euros on September 30th2009, compared to 526 million Euros at the end of 2008. In the first months of 2009 Hansenet’s losses accounted for 610 million Euros.
